How it came about
The Latin Conference on Internet of Things is a Flagship and International conference of the IEEE IoT TC. It is planned to be organized each year in a different country in Latin America. The multidisciplinary conference is an opportunity for researches from academia and industry from all around the world and from different domains on IoT to meet together and exchange their experiences, as well fro students working in all domains related to IoT. The conference will include selected papers, keynotes talks, special sessions, panels and tutorials. It will also include some special social events to provide an unforgettable experience to participants.
This first edition will be located in the beautiful city of Fortaleza, capital of the State of Ceará, in the Northeast of Brazil. The conference venue will be located in front of the ocean.
About Fortaleza
The sun and the ocean make Fortaleza one of the most beautiful parts of the country. Fortaleza is known for the hospitality of its 2.4 million inhabitants, who warmly welcome its visitors from all over the world. Fortaleza's night life is one of the best in the country, Forró, and accordion-driven folk-based style and a typical dance from the northeast, has reached all Brazilian territory and conquers everyone who visits the town.
The gastronomy of the region is also very special, including a large set of exotic local fruits. Fortaleza has a tropical climate, which means sun and warmth all year round, with an average temperature varying between 28° and 30°C. It is another reason to enjoy the beautiful local beaches.
Fortaleza is one of Brazil’s paradisiac destinations and attracts, allyear long, Brazilian and foreign tourists for its beaches and entertainment. Besides, Fortaleza is located in a strategic position to fly to Europe and The United States.
Most of the airlines offer daily flights to all the country´s major cities as well as regular flights to International destinations, such as Lisbon (Portugal), Paris, Miami e Buenos Ayres (Argentina).
